Description of Kwadacha Wilderness Provincial Park:
Kwadacha houses a diversity of habitat that supports ample wildlife, ranging from wolves to Siberian lemmings. If you are a bird enthusiast, this is the place to visit, with over 70 species of birds including grebes, teals, hawks, falcons, kestrels, eagles, warblers and even Lapland Longspurs. Watch for signs of bear activity and make plenty of noise. To help maintain the natural state of this area, pack out all garbage.
Wilderness, backcountry or walk-in camping is allowed, but no facilities are provided. |
Description of Kutenai RV Park:
The park is 16 km/10 mi south of the Radium Hot Springs junction on Highway 93/95. There are full hookups, pull throughs, laundry, free showers. Guests have the use of a treed and lawned area with a private beach for swimming. No tenting, small pets OK. |

Located in the heart of cattle country, the rolling grasslands and dry open forest surround the sparkling turquoise waters of Kentucky Lake and Alleyne Lake. The scenery is spectacular from early April to late October with springs’ palette of soft pastels slowly changing to the vibrant golds of autumn.
This area is very popular for fishing and even features a 'children only' fishery to foster interest in the sport among youth. The ponds between Kentucky Lake and Alleyne Lake are open only to those under the age of 16. The lakes and ponds are stocked with rainbow trout from the Summerland Trout Hatchery. Depending on temperatures, there are ice fishing opportunities in the park.
